Can I create a book about a grandma and grandchild?

Yes — Grandma (or Grandad) can appear in the book alongside the grandchild. You can add up to 5 characters, up to 3 of them main heroes, so both can easily be main heroes. The main hero needs a photo; for supporting characters it's optional (but it helps with the likeness). Then add your own theme or plot to the chosen world and storyline in a few words — for example, special moments with Grandma.

Can the story have a villain, like a devil or a wicked witch?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can add any character you like — a devil, a wicked witch or anyone else. There's just one condition: the character can't come from a copyrighted work (such as Frozen, Star Wars or any other film, series, book or game). Those are protected works and we don't hold a licence for them. And of course you can add your own story or theme and decide how this character behaves in the story and what role it plays.

How do I create a book?

In a few minutes and five steps: add the heroes and their photos, pick a world and a plot, choose an illustration style, fill in the details (language, dedication) and place your order in the summary. Then we get to work.

What kind of photo should I upload?

Accepted Answer

A sharp portrait, good lighting, face clearly visible — and only one person in the photo. JPEG or PNG up to 8 MB; you can adjust the crop right in the guide. The photo doesn't have to be perfect — the AI turns it into an illustrated hero, not a copy.

Can the book feature several children or the whole family?

Yes! You can add up to 5 characters, up to 3 of them main heroes. The main hero needs a photo; for supporting characters it's optional (but it helps with the likeness).

Can a pet or a favourite toy be the hero?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a character can be a person, an animal or an object. A dog or a teddy can even be a main hero alongside your child; an object (say, a favourite toy car) appears as a supporting character.

Can I add my own dedication?

Yes, the book has a dedication page — you can write up to 300 characters, or let the AI suggest a few options and pick one. And if you forget the dedication while creating the book, you can add it later in the editor at any time.

What age is the book suitable for?

You enter the hero's age when creating the book, and we adapt the length of the text and the vocabulary — from short tales for the littlest ones (0–1, 2–5) to longer stories for school-age kids (6–8, 9–12).

In 30 languages — Czech, Slovak, English, German and more. Ideal for bilingual families or a gift for someone overseas.

Which illustration styles can I choose from?

Accepted Answer

20 styles — cinematic 3D, watercolour, classic fairy tale, comic, anime, coloured pencils, plasticine and more, each with examples. The chosen style is kept throughout the whole book.

Can I write my own story?

Accepted Answer

You build the story from our worlds and plots and add your own ideas — your own theme, your own plot in a few words and a personal detail (a pet, a toy, something your child is learning right now…). You can't paste in a complete story of your own yet, but you can edit the text of the finished book however you like.

How long does it take for the book to be ready?

We start working on your book as soon as you order. It's usually ready within 15 minutes — we'll send you an e-mail as soon as you can flip through it.

Why doesn't the character look exactly like the photo?

Accepted Answer

The AI creates an illustrated hero based on the likeness in the photo — it captures the hairstyle, hair colour and expression — but it's an illustration, not a photorealistic copy. If the likeness isn't right, regenerate the illustration with one click, or try uploading a different photo.

Can I pause creating the book and finish later?

Yes, your book in progress is saved as you go. Without signing in, you'll find it in this browser for another 30 days; with an account, it's in My Books with a ‘Continue’ button, from anywhere. You always have one book in progress — a new one picks up where you left off.

Question 15

Do I need an account to create a book?

Accepted Answer

No — you can create and buy a book without signing up; all you need is an e-mail address for us to send the finished book to. An account (e-mail + password, or Google) is well worth it, though: it holds all your books, and editing text and regenerating illustrations only work when you're signed in. Books created in your browser are linked to your account automatically.

Can I change the book's title?

The AI suggests a title in the summary before you pay — you can ask for more options or rewrite it entirely your way. Once the book has been created, the title on the cover can't be changed, so fine-tune it before you order.
