Question 1

How does a book with my child's name work?

Accepted Answer

You type in a name and upload one photo. The name appears in the title and throughout the story, and the main hero takes on your child's likeness. You pick the world, the plot and the illustration style. You can flip through the finished book online, fine-tune the text and order a printed copy.

Question 2

Can I get the book printed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can order a printed copy of your finished e-book at any time — full-colour A4 hardcover, delivered to your door. Perfect when the book is meant to last as a gift, not just sit as a file on your phone.

Question 3

How much does the book cost?

Accepted Answer

The digital book costs NZ$14.99 — you flip through it online, download it as a PDF and can add an audiobook for NZ$5.99. The printed A4 hardcover costs NZ$69.99 + NZ$12.99 shipping. It's all laid out clearly on the pricing page.

Question 4

What exactly do I get when I order a book?

Accepted Answer

A made-to-order digital book: you flip through it online in the reader, download it as a PDF and can add an audiobook for NZ$5.99. The printed version — a large A4 hardcover book with full-colour printing — can be ordered for your finished digital book for NZ$69.99 + shipping.

Question 5

Can I see a preview before I pay?

Accepted Answer

Before you pay, you see exactly what the book will be made from: the heroes based on your photo, the world and plot, the illustration style, and the suggested title with a synopsis. You can also flip through finished books from other parents in Examples.

Question 6

How long does it take for the book to be ready?

Accepted Answer

We start working on your book as soon as you order. It's usually ready within 15 minutes — we'll send you an e-mail as soon as you can flip through it.

Question 7

What kind of photo should I upload?

Accepted Answer

A sharp portrait, good lighting, face clearly visible — and only one person in the photo. JPEG or PNG up to 8 MB; you can adjust the crop right in the guide. The photo doesn't have to be perfect — the AI turns it into an illustrated hero, not a copy.

Question 8

Can the book feature several children or the whole family?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can add up to 5 characters, up to 3 of them main heroes. The main hero needs a photo; for supporting characters it's optional (but it helps with the likeness).

Question 9

Can I edit the book's text?

Accepted Answer

Yes, any time. Sign in, open the book in the editor, rewrite any text you like and the PDF regenerates by itself (usually in 1–2 minutes). You can also choose a different font.

Question 10

What happens to the photo I upload?

Accepted Answer

We use the photo solely to create the illustrations for your book. It's kept in private storage (never publicly accessible), we don't share it and we don't use it to train AI. We'll delete it on request — details in the Privacy Policy.

Question 11

What age is the book suitable for?

Accepted Answer

You enter the hero's age when creating the book, and we adapt the length of the text and the vocabulary — from short tales for the littlest ones (0–1, 2–5) to longer stories for school-age kids (6–8, 9–12).

Question 12

Can I return the book?

Accepted Answer

Each book is made to measure for one particular child, so both the digital and the printed book fall under the statutory exception to the right of withdrawal — it can't be returned without giving a reason. But if the book arrives damaged, badly printed or something else isn't right, we'll arrange a fix or a new book at our cost. Write to us — we handle complaints fairly and quickly.
