Question 1

Can I swap the hero's photo in the book?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, the hero's likeness can't be changed in a finished book. Allowing that would mean regenerating the whole book from scratch.

Question 2

Can I change the cover design after the book is created?

Accepted Answer

The cover illustration can't be changed once the book has been created. If you'd like something on the cover changed, get in touch — we'll look at it case by case.

Question 3

Can I edit the book's text?

Accepted Answer

Yes, any time. Sign in, open the book in the editor, rewrite any text you like and the PDF regenerates by itself (usually in 1–2 minutes). You can also choose a different font.

Question 4

I don't like one of the illustrations. What can I do?

Accepted Answer

You can have any illustration regenerated — 3 regenerations are included in the price, and the editor shows how many you have left. The new version is created as a variant: you choose which one stays, and you can go back to the original at any time. Regenerations work when you're signed in.

Question 5

What if I use up my free regenerations?

Accepted Answer

You can buy more right in the editor for NZ$0.69 each (1–20 at a time).

Question 6

Something looks odd in an illustration (an extra hand, missing characters…)

Accepted Answer

We automatically check every illustration as it's generated and regenerate anything suspicious straight away. If something still slips through, use a regeneration — and if that doesn't help, write to us and we'll sort it out.

Question 7

Can I change the illustration style after the book is created?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In your book's settings, open the Illustration style tab and choose a different style. It costs NZ$7.99, and we'll redraw all the pictures for you — the story, text, names and dedication stay the same. The scenes will look a little different from now, because they're drawn completely afresh. We can't show you a preview of the new style with your child before you pay, but you'll see a sample picture for each style.

Your original style stays with you. All the styles you've had drawn are kept with the book and you can switch between them for free — the PDF and the reader update by themselves after switching. With the new style you get another 3 free picture regenerations. Pictures you fixed in the previous style don't carry over to the new one.

Drawing usually takes 15 minutes, and we'll send you an e-mail when it's done. If your printed book is already at the printer, it will arrive in the original style and you'll have the new one in the PDF and online. If printing is still waiting, we'll hold off until the new style is finished and print the book in it.

Question 8

Can I edit the dedication and the ‘The hero of this book is…’ page?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you can edit the dedication and the dedication spread with the hero's name in the editor at any time. And if the book doesn't have a dedication yet, simply write one and, once saved, it's added to the dedication spread.
